“To talk to you”, em homenagem à avó da cantora, é de cortar o coração. “White chalk” tem 11 músicas com média de 3 minutos, e PJ deixa para o final de “The mountain”, a última do disco, o extravasar de sua catarse.
Melhor escutar do que ler. Abaixo, todas as canções do álbum e alguns trechos das letras. Ouça com cuidado. E proteja os pulsos.
GROW GROW GROW
Teach me mummy
How to grow
How to catch someone's fancy
Underneath the twisted oak grove
How to grow
How to catch someone's fancy
Underneath the twisted oak grove
WHEN UNDER EITHER
I lay on the bed
Waist down undressed
Look up at the ceiling
Feeling happiness
Human kindness
Waist down undressed
Look up at the ceiling
Feeling happiness
Human kindness
WHITE CHALK
And I know
These chalk hills will rot my bones
These chalk hills will rot my bones
BROKEN HARP
Please don't reproach me
For how empty my life has become
I don't know what really happened
I watched your disappointment
At being misunderstood
For how empty my life has become
I don't know what really happened
I watched your disappointment
At being misunderstood
SILENCE
And in my thinking
I'd steal you away
though you never wanted me anyway
I'd steal you away
though you never wanted me anyway
TO TALK TO YOU
Oh grandmother
How I miss you
Under the earth
Wish I was with you
To talk to you
How I miss you
Under the earth
Wish I was with you
To talk to you
THE PIANO
Nobody's listening
Oh God I miss you
Oh God I miss you
BEFORE DEPARTURE
Farewell my friends
Farewell my dear ones
If I was rude
Forgive my weakness
Goodbye my friends
Goodbye to evening parties
Remember me
In the spring
Farewell my dear ones
If I was rude
Forgive my weakness
Goodbye my friends
Goodbye to evening parties
Remember me
In the spring
THE MOUNTAIN
By the mountain
I feel nothing
For in my own heart
Every tree is broken
The first tree will not blossom
The second will not grow
And the third is almost fallen
Since you betrayed me so
Since you
I feel nothing
For in my own heart
Every tree is broken
The first tree will not blossom
The second will not grow
And the third is almost fallen
Since you betrayed me so
Since you
